Williams will arrive at the Vetch as back up to Roger Freestone as Brian Murphy jets out for the World Youth Championships with the Republic of Ireland.
Hartlepool manager Neal Cooper told their official site “He needs to play First Team football and he will get a chance to do that at Swansea. We’ll be keeping a close eye on how he does there”
Williams last played for Hartlepool on the opening day of the season when a below bar performance saw him replaced with Jim Provett in the Hartlepool goal. A Hartlepool spokesman added “Anthony is one of a number of players who is not getting first-team football at the moment. It’s not doing him any good being stuck on the bench, and hopefully, he will come back fitter and with more appetite.”

The move for Williams was first suggested in the Hartlepool Evening Gazette back in October and it stated that Flynn knew of Williams from his days with the Under-21 squad. However, with Murphy not due to leave at that point for another month then it seemed pointless to make the move then. We assume that Williams is being brought in as cover for the long serving Roger Freestone but time will tell on this one. In fairness of late Roger has done little wrong and with the defence looking more certain of late then it would seem harsh if Williams went into the starting line-up for the game against Darlington on Saturday – ironically another of the teams that he was being linked with a loan move to.
Meanwhile, reports are suggesting that the club have secured the signature of Izzy Iriekpen until the end of the season and that they are in talks with Richard Duffy about a twelve month extension to his contract.
