What A Difference A Week Makes…

So, here we are after yet another poor performance and defeat this time to the might of JT Mitsubishi leaders (Welsh premiership) Rhyl. No disrespect to Rhyl, but we SHOULD be beating teams of their standard quite comfortably yeh? Of course we are talking about Swansea City here, and they never do things easy. Everything was set up nicely on Tuesday with the new manager- Kenny Jackett in place, giving the players an opportunity to impress him and to prove to him that they ARE worthy of being retained next season. Swansea approached the game against a lower team once again carrying no respect for their opponents and the outcome was the same = Defeat. They also showed AGAIN that they haven’t got any commitment to the cause, no pride or desire in wearing the shirt and the lack of fitness evidently showed. How a semi- professional football team can have fitter players playing for them than a professional league club is beyond me. Respect, Commitment, Pride and Fitness are four ESSENTIAL things you must have if you are to succeed as a club or as a player. Not forgetting that the game was actually screened on live TV and our "Professionals" humiliated themselves and more importantly let the fans down!

I don’t think we have one player here who HASN’T suffered some sort of injury this season, whether it be a hamstring injury or slight knock. What does that tell us about our fitness? Personally i don’t think we would look silly if we changed our name to "Swansea City NHS".

Kenny Jackett hasn’t inherited a poor squad in terms of quality, he has infact inherited a team that are dis-organised, unfit and who simply doesn’t give a damn about the club that WE the Fans love so very much. What has happened to the squad of fit professionals we had at the start of the season? One thing i heard yesterday while watching the FAW cup game that i found quite baffling is what Ian Gwyn Hughes said, "I think the swansea players are nervous to perform infront of the new boss Jackett". Surely they should be raring to go with a huge point to prove? Maybe they think that because Flynn signed me, i havent got to perform anymore, and that they’ll just pick up their wage packet at the end of it all. Onto the Hull game that took place on Bank holiday, it looked a different Swans team that took to the field in terms of commitment. The players got stuck into tackles and actually looked like they wanted to be here. Unfortunately our fitness levels still lacked but under Jackett, I can already see an improvement throughout the team. There are now 4 games in which the players have to perform and show Jackett that they deserve to be here and wearing the Proud White shirt that belongs to Swansea City. Under Jackett I think we have a very bright future. He will install the fitness that we lack so badly, he will get us playing tidy football and install a “never give up” attitude within the players. A clear out is expected in the summer but I wouldn’t go as far as saying that we will see a majority of players going, just a minority. A disappointing season (In my eyes) is coming to an end, with a few good memories to come out of it EG, the FA cup run the find of Robinson and the Signing of Trundle. There are only 25 league games left at The Vetch until we move to White rock so everybody make sure that they make the most of the time left at The Vetch because we wont be going back! ;-).

All get behind Jackett and the Lads and we will be fine! ๐Ÿ™‚

KENNY JACKETT’S BARMY ARMY!!

NB:- This article was written before the Lincoln game and after the Hull

game and I couldn’t fit any points about the Lincoln game in. ๐Ÿ˜‰
