Darlington 1 Swansea 2 |
Ananova Report Darlington ended their home programme in disappointing fashion as Swansea triumphed 2-1 thanks to two second-half goals. The visitors, hampered by the early departures of Brian Murphy and Lee Trundle, took the lead three minutes after the break, substitute Kevin Nugent flicking the ball on for Paul Connor to rifle home a right-foot drive. Although Alan Tate came to Swansea’s rescue by blocking Danny Graham’s close-range shot, the hosts equalised in the 65th minute when substitute Barry Conlon headed down and Graham rounded substitute goalkeeper Roger Freestone before firing home from a narrow angle. The game looked to be heading for a draw until captain Roberto Martinez hit the post with a 78th-minute free-kick and Nugent converted the rebound. |
