Three Months Is A Long Time |
Click Here For The Latest Stadium Pictures But when you look at the development it is scary how much it has progressed in the last three months. I visited the White Rock development on 15th February this year (the day after Tranmere put us out of the FA Cup) and took the picture below. It was the first time that there had been sign of building above the ground on the White Rock site and excited many Swans fans that work had finally begun (you can click here and view all the pictures from 15th Feb) The picture shows the first stages of the West Stand starting to grow And now we come today. Just 91 days later and this picture which was taken this morning from ‘upon high’ (Click Here to see the rest of the day’s pictures) Three months hard work and the stadium shape is so visible for all to see. It is also interesting walking around the development you can almost see the amazement on the drivers faces as they pass the stadium as they realise just how much it is progressing. Even more so when you consider that on the 8th October last year, Ade Cuthill sent us this picture of the site where the stadium now is taking such rapid progress Along with other Swans fans I will be sad to see the back of the Vetch but at the same time it is hard not to get excited when you see the progress being made at White Rock. It’s hard to think that after next season we will be playing our home games at the new stadium and I for one am now getting excited by that prospect. It will seem strange for a while but give it a few years and White Rock (or whatever it will be called at that time) will be a ground that we can turn into a fortress and there should be no reason why the stadium cannot generate the same kind of atmosphere as the Vetch currently does. And judging by the progress already made on the stadium site – who wants to lay a bet on what it looks like in another 91 days time? Anyone worked out where they would like to sit yet? |
