Swans Sign Midfielder Fisken |
22 year old Fisken signed professional terms for the Hornets back in February 2000 and since that time has made 19 starts and 9 sub appearances for the 1st division side – finding the net on one occasion having made his debut against Manchester City in 2001. He is a former skipper of the Vicarage Road side’s under-19 team and after a lengthy spell out of the game with injury in the season before last he returned at the end of the 2002/3 season. Appearances though were limited in the season just passed with his games for the first team limited to one substitute league appearance and a start in the Carling Cup. He had one year left on his contract at Watford but according to the Swans official site has decided that a move to the Vetch will benefit both himself and the Swans. He will be an unknown quantity to Swans supporters and was described by a Watford fan this morning on the message board as someone who can play right wing or central midfield. The same Watford fan went on to say "Has a good powerful shot on him and can produce some decent passing but is inconsistent and hasn’t really be able to break into our 1st team squad in recent seasons." Swans fans will have to wait for the chance to see Fisken in action for the first team until the start of pre season as the first team professional number at the Vetch rises to 14. |
