BBC Wales Looking For Your Help |
BBC Wales have commissioned a 6 part series entitled ‘Wales Yesterday’ As part of that series they will be looking at events of 1981 and 1983 and in particular for these programmes are looking for Swans fans who were around at the time. 1981, as if you need reminding, was quite possibly the greatest in the Swans history as they reached, not only the first division, but the very summit of English football. Playing with a style that made the nation sit up and take notice, John Toshack’s team took the league by storm and recorded victories over the very best that the country had to offer. 1983 was a much darker time with the Swans relegated from the top flight and John Toshack leaving the club after 5 memorable years. The decline had started which was to lead to our eventual bankruptcy in the mid 1980s. The BBC want to speak to those supporters that remember those times and for them to share their experiences of the highs and lows that have been listed. If you are interested in taking part in the programme then please contact Lynda Lewis, the researcher for Wales Yesterday by either calling her on 02920 322 926 or via e-mail at this link Both years were extremely memorable for Swans fans of that era and this is your chance to share your views with the watching Welsh public To help jog your memories, you can view the links below Click Here For Results from the 1980/81 season Click Here For Results from the 1982/83 season John Toshack talks to JackArmy.net about the golden years – Click Here |
