The FAW Premier Cup |
The FAW Premier Cup was established in 1998/99 by the FAW in conjunction with it’s sponsors the BBC. The competition was designed to give the Welsh clubs in the Welsh Leagues the chance to compete with their compatriots in the English Pyramid. Initially, the competition saw the teams divided into group stages before qualifying for the knock out phases of the cup but latterly this has been changed to see the ‘big four’ progress into the quarter finals automatically before an away tie at a group qualifier. At the time of writing, Swansea have yet to win the competition in it’s 6 year history although they have been runners up twice to Wrexham (2001) and Cardiff (2002) The full list of Swans FAW Premier Cup results is below
