Jackett Delighted With Vetch Win |
Swansea boss Kenny Jackett praised goalkeeper Willy Gueret after his 76th-minute penalty save sealed a 1-0 win over Lincoln. Jackett felt Gueret earned City their second successive after keeping out Gary Taylor-Fletcher’s spot-kick. He said: "I am very pleased with the weekend’s results but it took a great save from Willy to achieve it. "We did our homework on their penalty-taker and knew exactly where he was going to place it. "After we scored so early, I expected the lads to push on, but that never happened. We have had loads of corners this season and at last one has paid off. "That was my first win at the Vetch and I am glad that is now under my belt." While the two wins have given Jackett breathing space, Lincoln manager Keith Alexander is struggling with a side well below the strength of recent seasons. He said: "We have had two good years in reaching the play-offs but things are not going well for us at the moment and sides rarely manage three good years. "We didn’t get off to a good start by conceding that sloppy goal, but generally we did all right and should have converted that spot-kick. "We expected to be under pressure and changed things around a little and, had we scored the penalty and drawn the game, it would have been a happier trip home." |
