Trust Talk – 20 October

A big warm thanks to those fans that turned up last weekend to witness the unveiling of the Ivor Allchurch MBE statue. I am sure you will all agree that it is a fitting tribute to the legend that is Ivor and something that the newly named, Liberty Stadium, warrants at it’s main entrance to most traffic.

It has been a long hard year in collecting for the statue and we would like to thank everyone who has given their time and money to the cause. However, it is only fair that here we mention that the original sculpture for the Ivor Allchurch statue was byArtist Michael Field who’s specialty is sporting portrait work which is possessed world wide bycollectors in 23 countries.

The Project Managers responsible for producing the bronze statue, for whom Michael Field has worked for many years, areThomas & Peters, whohave specialised in sporting figurative art casting for 25 years. In addition to that a big thanks to Mike Isaac, the stonemason for the plinth on which Ivor stands so proudly.

The last couple of points there illustrate how the Trust can work in partnership with the business community and with this in mind, Board Member Jim White is now to spend some time looking at joining in partnership with businesses in our new Commercial Partner Programme. With opportunities starting at just ร‚ยฃ495 plus VAT per year, the programme offers businesses the chance to support and advertise with the Trust at all events as well as on all communications. Jim is working with a list of companies that he thinks will be interested in the opportunities that we have available but should your business be interested in finding out more then please contact him on 07979 786650.

Finally this time around a reminder that the Box Sets are soon to be available for collection. All people who have ordered should by now have received their letter advising when to pick them up. Less than 150 of the box sets are available now to purchase and we do expect these to go quite quickly once the rest have been picked up and examined by the current non-purchasers. So if you want one, get in there quick by contacting Stuart on smacdonald@swanstrust.com
