What a shambles. First half wasn’t too bad. Although they had more pressure we used the ball better. Robinson controlled the midfield and looked threatening, while Forbes got in behind a few times down the left. Trundle produced the laziest performance I have seen him in a Swansea shirt. He was constantly getting caught offside due to his inability to be bothered to get back in an onside position. Very disappointed with him although he had our best chance but the keeper saved. The 2nd half was a total waste of time. Jackett brought Britton off and Put Martinez on in central midfield. Robbo moved over to the left wing with Forbes switching to the right. Good move Kenny, take our most dangerous player and shove him out left and then not give him the ball. Robbo was non exsistent in the 2nd half through no fault of his own. Martinez was very, very poor. He constantly mis-controlled the ball and his passing was wayward to say the least. Gillingham’s goal came from a thorugh ball. Their player latched onto it but was running away from the goal with no support in the area. So it was a great idea of Lowe’s to come steaming in with a flying tackle. No need for it whatsoever, and it was a definite penalty from where I was sitting. The rest of the 2nd half went on without us getting in 1 shot on goal. Knight and Williams came on for Trundle (needs to buck his ideas up) and Ricketts. Ricketts was there physically but god knows where his mind was. He was wasteful in posession and his positioning was alarming. He’s been poor for months now and in my opinion he needs to be dropped. Overall, a very lack lustre and unpassionate performance. It would be easy to blame next week’s game as an excuse but if that was true then it’s pathetic. Today was a much more important game than next Sunday but you wouldn’t think it looking at the players. PS It’s good of Trundle to kiss the badge and applaud the fans when things are going well, but today when he was subbed he had no interest in applauding us. His overall effort all afternoon was of someone who couldn’t give a s h i t. Willy 6 – Didn’t have much to do in a game lacking quality Ricketts 5 – Poor. Terrible passing and poor positioning. Tate 7 – One of the few players to come out with any credit. Tried hard. Lowe 6 – Can forgive him the tackle for the penalty. Won alot in the air but was exposed on the ground a few times. Monk 7 – Decent enough. Britton 5 – Hardly had a touch. Taken off at HT. Robinson 7 – Best player in the first half. Didn’t get in the game in the 2nd half thanks to KJ. O’Leary 6 – Worked hard as usual, that’s about it. Forbes 6 – Ran alot, nothing at the end of it. Trundle 4 – Didn’t look intersted. Akinfenwa 5 – Didn’t contribute anything. SUBS – Martinez 4 – Let’s hope it was one of those days. Williams 5 – Got caught up in the atmosphere of him returning. Looked as if he wanted to get rid of the ball as quickly as possible when recieving it. Knight 5 – Came out wide looking for the ball, usually ending up with him getting tackled. |
