Defender Kevin Austin was signed from Bristol Rovers in 2004 and he was a rock at the back as the Swans won promotion from League Two. Austin was signed as a left back but is often reluctant to go forward and he usually fills in at central defence. Austin found League One a bit of a struggle last season; he struggled to handle pacy strikers and referees also seemed to punish him more for his ‘hands on’ approach. To be fair to Austin he did play brilliantly in the 3 play off games, he earned a contract due to playing more than 25 games last season.
