Gary started his career at West Ham, coming through their Academy. He spent a season on loan at Exeter where he scored a creditable 17 times. He then moved to Swindon for £200000 but didn’t make the same impact there, scoring only seven times. In June 2001, he was signed for £160000 by Hull City and although he only stayed there for 19 months, he scored 27 times. He moved back to London in January 2003 and joined Leyton Orient on a free transfer. He has scored 43 times for the London club, including in nine consecutive games last season. Gary has never scored in a league match against Swansea.
