…although I do not think today can be described as a particularly good performance in as much as teams aren’t going to watch it and sit up and take notice I thought it was a very solid performance and one we can take a lot of heart from. We knocked it around a bit, and although we played ugly at times, thats what you have to do at places like Orient. I thought the back 4 looked excellent, particularly Tate who on the evidence so far is the best partner for Izzy. The fact that he has some degree of accuracy on his passes mean that the long ball game becomes slightly more effective when its Tatey ‘lumping’ it forward. Pratley was absolutely superb. Slogged his guts out for the team and ran the midfield, something I expected him to be doing from the start of the season. Leon Knight looked lively, I didnt think he dived for his 1st booking and didnt get a proper look of his 2nd. His penalty wasn’t the greatest but reading the programme on the way home that boy Gardner has a great record of saving pens.. It was his 6th penalty save of 2006. Obviously he took his goal well. Bayo looked good again when he came on. No excuses for Jackett not picking him on Friday night whatsoever. Fallon’s missed chance will no doubt be debated a bit in the week, but all in all he had a tidy game I thought, as did everyone. It was nice to see Paul Connor get a good reception when he came on too. I’m not a massive fan of Jackett in the slightest but I think he deserves a lot of credit for the way he got the players playing today. I thought we showed quite a lot of grit and determination today and all in all was a very hard working and honest performance. Roll on Friday Night!
