The deal for Luke Guttridge is “dead in the water” according to Kenny Jackett who told the Western Mail that Southend were happy to let the player go but he did not want to come to Swansea. The enquiry, Jackett reveals, was made two weeks ago and Jackett suggested that, with Darren Pratley hopefully fit for Sunday, there may be no new faces ahead of the emergency loan window closing on Thursday.
“Are we still looking for players? Well, I’m hopeful that Darren Pratley will be back for Sunday’s game against Bristol City.” he told the Western Mail
“And, although Kris O’Leary picked up another dead leg at Port Vale, I’d expect him to be OK for the Bristol game as well. Alan Tate also did very well in central midfield, so it looks like we’re overcoming our problems in that area.”
“I thought Marcos looked quite nervous – perhaps the fact he chose to join us on loan ahead of Port Vale played a part in that.
“But he enabled me to push Kevin Austin into the centre of defence and he balances up Kevin Amankwaah, who likes to get forward a bit more on the other side. Overall, I’d say it was a solid debut from Marcos.”
It’s a big weekend coming up in League One with 5th placed Yeovil facing second placed Scunthorpe and Swansea in 6th entertaining Bristol City (3rd)
