Darren Pratley is ‘itching’ to return for the Swans as he bids to make his comeback in Sunday’s derby against Bristol City at the Liberty Stadium.
The winners of Sunday’s game could move as high as 2nd in the table and the stakes could not be much higher at the moment as the Swans look and think back to that memorable day last September when seven goals were hammered past Bristol City.
Pratley has been out of action for three weeks and told the Evening Post “I’m not a great watcher, It is frustrating and I’m itching to get back. The ankle is getting better. It’s just a little sore at the moment.”
Richie Evans rates the chances of the skipper being back for Sunday as slim only but that doesn’t stop Pratley focusing on the job ahead for his side, who currently sit in 6th place “It is going to be a big game,” he added. “I was told about the 7-1 match by Jamie Smith (ex-Bristol City) who was with me at Brentford. I’m pretty sure we won’t see one of those again.
“The lads who have come in for me have done extremely well,” Pratley said. “It is going to be tough to get back with the competition we have. But that will just make me more determined. I’m sure that this can make me a better player.”
