New Swans manager Roberto Martinez has said that the chance to manage the club he left last summer was an opportunity too good to turn down. Speaking in his pre-match conference before watching his new charges lose 1-0 at Yeovil, the Spaniard said “When I left it was like losing the love of your life and you always want to have them back,. “If it had been any other club then I would have carried on playing, but with Swansea City it is a completely different situation. “This is a club that I love, it is a fantastic challenge and I couldn’t say no – it was too big to turn down.
“Obviously in any job experience is important,” he said. “I would be stupid to say that experience will guarantee you success. “I know that I how other strengths which are knowing the squad, I know the football club and I know the fans and their expectations. “But what I can guarantee is that I’m going to give 24 hours of my day to this club, so maybe I can tick the other boxes to cover the lack of experience.”
