Out-of-contract central defender Izzy Iriekpen says he is likely to leave Swansea after criticising the one-year deals offered by the club. “It’s not about money but the length of the deal and the fact that there’s no negotiation,” he told the Evening Post. “To say we should just sign what is put in front of us is an insult, it doesn’t look good for me staying at Swansea.” Iriekpen, skipper Garry Monk, Kristian O’Leary and Adebayo Akinfenwa have all yet to accept new contracts at Swansea. Kevin Austin penned an extension last week, while fellow defender Steve Watt is expected to sign a new deal within the next few days. Iriekpen, 25, says that Leeds and a number of other unnamed clubs have expressed an interest in his services. Meanwhile, Cheltenham have been linked with a move for O’Leary, who impressed in a loan spell there last November. But Swans manager Roberto Martinez says he is keen to retain all of his out-of-contract players. “Hopefully things will become a lot clearer in the next three or four days,” said Martinez. “These players should know that they are very important to plans and I hope that I will get good news from all four of them. “They can all play a massive part in my project.”
