Midfielder Ian Craney signed from Accrington Stanley for £150,000 by Kenny Jackett at the end of 2006; Craney started his career at non-league Runcorn before moving to Altrincham in 2001 before winning promotion to the Football League with Accrington Stanley – where he won the Conference and Non-League Player of the Year awards. Ian has had a disappointing time at Swansea so far; he does often go missing in games and hasn’t shown any of the qualities that made him highly rated at Accrington yet. He looks to have struggled with the step up to League One so far, but hopefully we’ll be able to see him improve this season. Yeovil Town are apparently interested in buying the midfielder.
