Duffy Says Goals Will Come

Darryl Duffy is not a worried man despite failing to find the net in any of the games so far this season.

And although his attempts to claim last week’s first goal at Walsall – when there was a deflection off his back that sent Robinson’s shot into the goal have fallen on deaf ears, he believes that his goals are just around the corner as he looks to recapture the form that saw him score 5 on loan at the end of last season.

Speaking to the Evening Post ahead of the game against Doncaster, Duffy said "It’s been going well and myself and Jason Scotland are creating chances for other people as well as getting on the end of them, "Obviously it is really frustrating not having a goal yet, but there are 43 league games to go and if I score in half of them I will get more than 20 goals – but I am not too worried yet. If we weren’t creating chance I would be, but the goals will come.

"The only problem we have had so far is because the new players have been getting used to each other. Angel (Rangel) is learning the language and getting used to the game, while Ferrie (Bodde) has fitted in unbelievably well. "We are due to put a few past a team though. We have been threatening to do that and if we get an early goal then, with a bit of luck and some quality in front of goal, we will put a few past someone.

"I’m still looking for my first goal – I am renowned as being a slow starter – but Robbo’s first goal last week definitely came off me. "I was screaming at everyone that it hit me and I was trying to claim it, but they were having none of it. "I think I’m going to get myself in the front of everyone’s shots from now on and try and get a wee knock off it."

His friend Lee Trundle backed the Swans, including Duffy, to succeed after watching the Carling Cup tie with Reading this week, something which Duffy does appreciate "It’s always nice to hear things like that, especially from Lee," "I enjoyed playing with Lee last season but Jason is also very good to work with. He likes to come short and receive the ball at his feet. "I think it’s going to take a few more games until we are totally aware of how each other plays. Hopefully, then we will really be banging in the goals."

Starting against Doncaster will be nice…..
