Roberto Encourages and Demands

Roberto Martinez is the latest in a line of people to back Darryl Duffy to open his account.

Duffy needs to reduce the monkey from his back by scoring his first goal since his summer move from Hull and has become increasingly closer in recent games without finding the net. Both Duffy himself and Jason Scotland have backed him to score sooner rather than later and now his manager is echoing those words

"It will come good for him," Martinez told the Evening Post

"Goals always come in groups, and while Darryl is frustrated because his overwall ratio is so good sometimes you have to look at the other side.

"The only problem will be if he doesn’t use his movement. Young playerscould watch and learn from the way he finds space in the final third, and as long as he keeps doing that the goals will come."

Meanwhile, Martinez has said that Swans fans are yet to see the best of Paul Anderson. The youngster, on loan from Liverpool, grabbed his second goal of the campaign in Tuesday’s 3-2 win over Millwall but Martinez says there is more to come

"He is one of those diamonds who keeps getting better and better with every minute he plays.

"But I think we can still expect to see a lot more from Paul. We haven’t seen him at his peak yet."
