Roberto Explains Hartson Decision |

Roberto Martinez has spoken to the first time about his decision not to bring John Hartson to the Liberty despite talks with the Welsh international. Speaking to the Evening Post, Roberto said "John Hartson deserves respect and my time "We had a proper football chat and a very enjoyable one at that. We exchanged thoughts and that was it. "John is a hero in Swansea and Wales, but you can’t try to push players into a team. We have taken our time assembling this squad of players carefully. "The way he plays and the player he is, you have to be realistic and see he doesn’t fit in. "We have Jason Scotland who has got five goals and is in that role John plays. The situation could be that John is sitting on the bench waiting for his opportunity and it would be very difficult. "John needs games, get out on the pitch and be back to his best.
