Angel Rangel has admitted that for the first time in his career he feels like a real footballer.
Rangel has probably been the most impressive of the summer’s captures to date, putting in a string of impressive performances at right back after joining the Swans during the close season.
His performances have earned rave reviews with many predicting that he has a great future ahead of him. Talking in the matchday programme which will be available around the ground tomorrow, Rangel said “It may sound strange, but for the first time in my career I actually feel like a real footballer. Back home you’d play in front of a few hundred people, possibly 2,000 at maximum for really big games, and then just go home.
“There would be no autographs to sign, fans waiting to speak to you. In fact, nobody away from the football club really knew who you were.
“Here in Swansea it’s totally different. The crowds we get are unbelievable; fans are asking you for your autograph before and after the game; and people actually know who I am!
“People not only recognise me in the street, they actually come over to say hello and ask me to sign an autograph,
“It really took me by surprise at first. I thought ‘how do they know me?’
