Cardiff Man To Stay?

Warren Feeney is a born again striker. Just two months after joining the Swans on a four month loan from Cardiff he has four goals in his last four league outings and he is enjoying life at the top end of League One.

Feeney was sent to Swansea with a damming review from both Cardiff and Luton fans who both rejoiced when their clubs finally lost their man but he has regained his confidence at Swansea and with a good run in the side there is hope that there is much more to come from the Northern Ireland international.

Talking in today’s News of the World, Feeney said “I think I’ve answered by critics. I was aware people were having a go because I wasn’t scoring goals for Cardiff. But I have shown them I do know where the net is. I always said I’ll score goals if I get a run of games but that wasn’t happening at Cardiff.

“Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink are there and they are always going to play. I’ve been playing at Swansea and that’s why the goals have been coming. My confidence is high and I’m getting my fitness and sharpness back.

“Now I feel like I’m going to score every time I play. It was frustrating for me at Cardiff but I never doubted myself. I knew once I got t hat first goal I’d go on a roll and that’s exactly what has happened.

“I’m really enjoying it at Swansea because the gaffer is giving me a run in the side. At Cardiff I was stuck on the bench and I’m not a player who is going to accept that. The important thing for me is playing football and I don’t think that is going to happen at Cardiff.

“I’d be happy to stay at Swansea, but that’s something the two clubs have got to sort out.” It is also something the two clubs have sorted out with a fee already agreed should Swansea decide that they want to make the move permanent. “They’re a great bunch of lads here and the facilities at the Liberty Stadium are fantastic.” Feeney added

“The fans have been brilliant to me even though I am a Cardiff player. I was ware of the rivalry between the two clubs but I knew if I got off to a flyer they would get behind me. A decision about my future will have to be made in the next couple of months. At the moment I just want to help the club push on and win promotion.”
