Scotland Happy Again

Jason Scotland lifted himself back to sole possession of top spot in the Swans scoring charts on Saturday with his 7th of the season and the Swans first ever at Huish Park.

Scotland struck just before half time to notch the sides first goal there in their fifth attempt and to set the Swans on the way to a 2-1 victory that lifted them back into 2nd place in the division with a game in hand.

It was the strikers first goal since September 18 when he netted in a 2-1 win over Cheltenham and it took the Swans to an impressive haul of 19 points from their last 8 league outings.

But Scotland was insistent that whilst it was nice to end the goal drought, the performance of the team was far more important “The boys told me we had never scored here, so I’m delighted to get the goal,” he told the Western Mail after the game.

“I wanted to score because I hadn’t got a goal in so many games and it was good to get one.

“I’m obviously happy to be back on the scoresheet.

“But it’s a team game, we got three points today and that’s the most important thing.

“We came here for three points and we are happy to be leaving with them.

“I don’t shoot much, but when I do it’s effective.

“To be honest, I’m happy with that and I am delighted to be scoring again.”

“It’s tough and hopefully I can get back in some goal-scoring form

“But I’m coming up against some quality defenders.

“On the day I could be good or they might do their job, you never know.

“Hopefully it will be me.

“The gaffer had said it would be a battle and that we had to win it and earn the right to play. We did that today and not many teams will come here and get the result like we did.

“The boys have a togetherness and really have a winning mentality now.

“Hopefully, we can keep it going.

“It’s good to get three points and be on the sort of run we are. Hopefully, we can keep it going and make sure that we get promoted.”
