Ward sees his side trail the Swans by 15 points – could be 18 by close of play tonight – and firmly believes that everyone else is playing for the other automatic spot available in the division.ย ย Ward said “Swansea are going to take some catching and really it’s second place that everyone’s trying to grab hold of
“But I was at Wolves a few years ago, when we were nine points clear with seven or eight games to play, and we collapsed big time.
“We couldn’t win a game for love nor money to finish it off. We should have won the championship, but West Brom pipped us and we missed out on the play-offs.
“I’ve been there. It can happen.”
Only last week Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood said “It will be very, very hard to see how they would drop so many points.”
“Strange things can happen but it will need a remarkable turnaround.”
“Every time they win they are taking a step-and-a-half towards promotion.”
“If they do that in the next five or six games then it will be very hard for any team to catch them.”
