Jackett will sit in the opposition dug out for the first time on Friday evening as he looks to prevent the Swans equalling a club record of 19 unbeaten league games – a run that stretches back to the middle of November. And whilst he may find that it is not the return of the former hero that he would have liked he defends his record whilst at Swansea and cites his involvement in helping to progress the club from the depths it was in five years ago "The club has really developed in the last five or six years considering it was close to going out of business six years ago." he explained
"Since then, Brian Flynn, myself and Roberto Martinez have taken them up the table. I'm pleased to have played my part in that development.
"It was a good time for me. I'm proud of what we achieved, but now I'm focusing on Millwall.
"To achieve anything you need attractive, passing football," he added – maybe ironically when you consider the difference in football style between the last months of Jackett and the current regime
"Proper footballers are the type of players I like in my team and to watch as well. I will persevere because that's how we'll succeed."
