Trundle Is Best Man Says Robbo

The two became best of pals when they joined Swansea at the same time under Brian Flynn and despite Lee's move to Bristol last summer, they have remained close to such an extent that Robbo had no hesitation in turning to the striker to do the duty when his first choice was unavailable.   And for Trundle, there was no hesitation in accepting the offer meaning that they will both board the jet to Vegas when they both hope that they will have a promotion each to celebrate as well as a wedding.

Trundle's Bristol City are three points clear at the top of the Championship whilst his former team mates – including Robinson – hold an eight point advantage in the division below leaving them both on course for probably one of the most unlikely doubles you could have imagined.  Few predicted the position of Bristol City and whilst many expected the Swans to be there competing this season, the size of gap has proven somewhat of a surprise "Lee's going to be my best man," Robinson told the Evening Post.

"He's actually the second choice, and he knows it, because there is a lad back home who I grew up with.

"But his missus is pregnant and he's busy with all that, so I asked Lee.

"He was really proud and emotional when I did because that's the type of lad he is."

The two Scousers remain great friends after four seasons rooming together at Swansea, still hooking up when respective fixtures allow.

"I've been over to Bristol once or twice and Lee's been back here," Robinson adds.

"He still loves it down here and he probably misses the place a little bit.

"I think he misses the relationship he had with the fans. Lee had some great years down here and you don't just throw all that away.

"It would be a dream come true to reach the Championship.

"And it would be fantastic if my best man, who is from a similar background to me and started in non-league, is a Premier League player by then too."

Robinson will be in the Swans side again tonight for the visit of Tranmere – Robinson's home town team.   He has a habit of scoring against them – grabbing the winner earlier this season at Prenton Park as well as the equaliser two years back and the Swans goal in the FA Cup back in 2004.  However, he is yet to score against them at the Liberty and that is something that he would like to right this evening as the Swans look to hit back following their first defeat in nineteen last Friday "We've already put that behind us," stresses Robinson.

"I felt we did enough to get something out of Millwall but let ourselves down by conceding a couple of sloppy goals.

"But I think that's two defeats in 27 league games, so it's not all doom and gloom is it?

"I've got a few goals against them, but they've all come at Prenton Park rather than at our place," Robinson points out.

"Hopefully I can change that tonight, but it'll be a tough game for us because Ronnie Moore's got them playing their best football in a couple of years.

"I've been pleased with my performances lately, but I would have liked a few more goals."
