Jenkins was speaking after the panel ruled that Leeds United would be returned no points after their appeal process and crowned the Swans as divisional champions into the process.
Some of the gloss has been taken off the Swans achievements in recent weeks with muted celebrations and they will now go down as the first team crowned champions of their division twice in the same season.
Speaking to BBC Sport the Swans chairman said "It has dragged on a bit.
"But the important issues were protecting the interests of everybody else…and the credibility of the Football League.
"We have celebrated a bit," said Jenkins.
"It's great for the fans as well as recognition of all the hard work that's gone in since we took charge.
"To get to that point (promotion to the second tier of English football), we've achieved what we set out to do.
"Since Roberto Martinez has taken charge, he has nearly averaged two points a game so I think that speaks highly of what he has achieved as a manager and we are delighted to be in this position and we look forward to next season."
The Swans end their season on Saturday at Brighton and now wait to find out whether the league trophy will be presented there or not.
