Roberto has enjoyed a hugely successful first full season in management with 3 Coca Cola League One manager of the month awards and now a league title to boot as he led his side into the second tier of English football for the first time since 1984.
And following the off the field problems caused by the league and Leeds United Roberto can finally enjoy a match knowing that the Swans fate is sealed and they will be recorded in the history books as this season's Champions.
"I think it's a waste of time talking about the trophy," Martinez admitted yesterday.
"I think everyone has lost a bit of interest in it and I can understand people saying we shouldn't celebrate with the trophy.
"The memory of celebrating at home has been taken away and that's harsh. It's difficult to take.
"Maybe it would be a good way to get a point across, but it's better to try to turn a negative into a positive.
"If there was one Swansea City fan there, it would be worth celebrating with him. The away section is sold out at Brighton so it's worth celebrating with them.
"The point has been made to the League and I'm sure they understand that the whole situation has been out of control."
It is understood that the Swans have been seeking clarification from the league all day as to whether they will be presented with the League Trophy tomorrow or not. And as yet it is believed that they have not been given an answer
Yet more incompetence from the football league.
