Bauza, who scored the two goals which promoted Swansea into the Championship at Gillingham, arrived at the Liberty last season on an initial one year deal but he and the club always stated that they would extend that beyond that period.
And whilst things had gone quiet on that front, there was never much doubt that he would commit his future to Swansea and that was confirmed today.
“Bussy has had a huge impact in the British game in a short period of time,” said Martinez.
“I think everyone has been pleased to see his progress from July through to May before returning to Spain an idol in the eyes of Swans fans after clinching us promotion at Gillingham with two great goals.
“He is still a very young, but talented striker who I am sure will continue to blossom on the Championship stage.
“Everyone at the club is delighted to see him commit himself to the club for a further spell. He’s enjoying his football and I'm sure we will also enjoy what he produces next season.”
The signature of Bussy ties up another of the loose ends left from last season's squad and pretty much leaves us in the situation where we just wait and see what Roberto can do this summer with the name of Gorka Pintado emerging this week as a target although it has been reported that Swansea are falling well short of the players valuation.
And it isn't even June yet……..
