The Swans look almost certain to break their target barrier of 10,000 sales with some to spare as a queue at the ticket office this morning – the first date that all non-renewed seats went on general sale.
A statement released via the official site said "Swansea City is pleased to confirm club record season tickets sales for the forthcoming Championship campaign.
"The club topped last season's 8,000* mark and broke the club record this morning as the deadline for existing season ticket holders to renew their seat expired last night.
Fans queued at the ticket office this morning to snap up their new seat for the forthcoming campaign as the Swans step into the second tier of English football for the first time in 24 years."
The first league game at the Liberty in the new season will be on August 16 when Nottingham Forest visit – seven days after the season kicks off at Charlton.
And with a guaranteed five figure crowd for every game at the Liberty next season minimum it promises to be a record breaking season at the new stadium in more ways than one.
