Martinez has already secured the services of Jordi Gomez and Gorka Pintado this summer and looks set to add Albert Serran and Fedde Bessone to his ranks before the week is out.  Add to that the targets of Mark Gower, Paul Anderson and Febian Brandy – assuming they all come off – and you have five new faces already at the Liberty to be added to the two potential returning ones.

But it seems that Roberto may not be finished there – we know that a goalkeeper is on the horizon with the name of Owain Fon Williams still linked in many quarters with a move to South Wales and Roberto – as he enters July – now has his intention to move into the English market with his eye already on some Premiership players.

Speaking to the Western Mail, the Swans boss said “The players you can sign in June are completely different to the ones you target in July

“July has a completely different market, perhaps a more British market.

“In Europe, if you don’t compete in June, you lose out. But there is always British movement in July because certain managers decide who you can get and who they want to keep once they have started their pre-season.

“It is a time to start looking at Premiership players and we have been keeping an eye on a few of them.

“We’ve have made enquiries, but you have to do that nowadays. It doesn’t necessarily mean you are signing anyone.

“I hope to have three more players by the end of this week. If we get them, we are exactly where we wanted to be by the end of June. It is always an important month when you are trying to find players in the European market. But we are right where we wanted to be.”
