The midfielder was in jovial mood as he spoke to the Western Mail about speculation linking him to a move away from Ninian Park.  And he admitted that he was looking forward to the two derbies with the Swans but promotion was more important to him than winning those two games.

Cardiff will play at the Liberty Stadium for the first time at the end of November with the return at Ninian Park in April next year as the two rivals lock horns for the first time in the league for 10 years.

But Ledley added – jokingly – that he would like to see Swansea relegated as he told the Western Mail “It’s been a long time since we played Swansea in a League derby, but given the choice of two victories over them or promotion, I would go for promotion, but with Swansea getting relegated”

Ledley’s comments were very much tongue in cheek but example of how much the players on both sides are looking forward to playing in a Derby which for most of them will be a completely new experience.

Sky TV have already taken the decision to show the Liberty game live on a day when Chelsea play Arsenal and the Manchester Derby will also dominate their schedules
