As the lomg search for a goalkeeper goes on, the name of Hansen is the latest to be linked with a move to South Wales – a move part speculated I am sure by the friendship between the two managers of the respective clubs.
Martin Hansen joined the Reds from Brondby in the summer of 2006.
His first year on Merseyside was spent at the Academy, where he was part of the 2007 FA Youth Cup winning side.
Hansen broke his finger in the warm up during the first leg of the final against Manchester United. Remarkably, he still played, though was not fit to take part in the return a week later.
The youngster graduated to Melwood aged just 17 ahead of the 2007-08 season.
Roberto has been searching for a goalkeeper since David Knight was told his contract was not being renewed at the end of last season and he has spent the first six weeks of the season with just Alan Tate on the bench as cover for Dorus De Vries.
Speculation is growing this week that a new stopper could be on his way and the names of David Stockdale at Fulham and Wojciech Szczesny at Arsenal have already been linked in recent weeks.
Many fans are calling for the new keeper to replace De Vries and it seems unlikely that Hansen is a player in a position to do just that.
But time will tell whether he even gets the chance or this is just pure speculation again
