You say Reading and I say Reading.ย  I say tomato and you say tomatoe.ย  I say Joe Ledly you say bottle job.ย ย  You know what it is be it Reading or Reading the Swans travel to the Madgeski stadium on Saturday to take on the only team with the Royal seal of approval.

And because of that seal of approval you know that somewhere somewhere tomorrow afternoon good old Queen Liz will be marching round the living room with her best Homer Simpson slippers on cheering on Steve Coppell’s boys whilst slurping from a can of special vat.ย ย  You can really see it can’t you.

The Madgeski stadium is named after Reading supremo John Madgeski.ย ย  Which made me wonder just how much of an ego you would have to have to want to name a stadium after you.ย  Probably the biggest ego known to man so expect the sherriffadz stadium to be coming to a stadium near you at some stage in the future.

Reading of course was home to famous snooker tournaments which used to be played at the Oracle.ย ย  Now then hands up who remembers “Paging the Oracle” which was the first name for Teletext on ITV.ย ย  They were great days you would be waiting twenty minutes to read about your clubs latest signing only to see proclaimed in big letters “SWANS READING LATEST NEWS” at which point you would be prompted to dial a premium rate number only to find out that Roberto and his squad had been catching up on the days papers before training.ย ย  Ahhh, memories.

Reading was known for over 100 years as the “Biscuit Town” as well as being home to Sutton Seeds who supply bulbs all over the world today.ย ย  Although it has to be said that I put ten in my table lamps and its dark as f**k here at the moment.ย ย  As for the Biscuit Town part well as the famous Welsh philosopher Dai Jestive once said it takes some rich tea from my mate Gary Baldy to create custard cream.ย  And if you understand that then that takes the biscuit hell it wasnt even funny.ย  Ginger nut that I am.

And so that is that as we prepare for the trip to Reading.ย  Or is that Reading.ย ย  Or even Redding.ย ย  Reding, Reddin, Redin, Readin, Readin or something like that.ย  Frankly I don’t care one way or the other now or even in the future.

All I care about is thats another one over with.ย  Anyone got any material for Preston??
