As revealed back in July, Roberto appears to see the wide man as the perfect replacement for the departed Paul Anderson and as an outlet that will provide some much needed pace into his side and his preferred formation.
Reports in the London press suggest that Phil Scolari is now ready to let one of his prized young assets back into the Championship for a season and Swansea – along with Birmingham – are stated as the front runners for the signature.
Initially it was thought that Scolari may wait until Chelsea were knocked out of the Carling Cup – they play Burnley in the next round.ย ย That belief was escalated when Sinclair came on as a second half substitute for Frank Lampard against Portsmouth last week but it now seems that he is happy for his man to get more first team experience.
Reports at the end of July suggested that Birmingham had already had a bid rejected for the player and whilst the current links of the two clubs with Sinclair may be no more than media speculation there is hope that the Swans can grab on loan one of the brightest prospects at Chelsea.
No word has been said recently from either club with Roberto’s last statement back in August saying “We have lost that pace from last season, but we have pace in other areas now and we may have to adapt.
“If a player who can improve us becomes available and we can get him we will.”
