Reports yesterday suggested that it was becoming a fight between Birmingham and the Swans for the loan services of the player who has impressed so many in his career to date.
After initially showing an interest in the summer, it appeared that hopes of a move had reduced due to Sinclair’s involvement in Chelsea’s Carling Cup run – he came on as sub against Portsmouth last week.
But after news of the move leaked in London, Jenkins was forced to admit that the Swans had been back in touch about the winger but had been turned down – at least for now.
He told the Evening Post “Scott Sinclair is a player Roberto likes and has been keen on for some time
“But we have enquired recently about him and have been made aware by Chelsea that they are not prepared to let him out on loan at the moment.
“The last we heard was that Scott might be available come January, but not before then.
“Roberto would like it to happen because Scott Sinclair is the kind of young, fast player he has been looking for
“He had a list of a few possibilities, but he is finding it quite difficult to get the player he wants.”
