McCarthy was talking on the back of his side’s 3-0 defeat against Reading on Tuesday night.
He brings his side to Swansea tomorrow still as leaders of the division after a blistering start to the season that saw them win 7 and draw 1 of their opening 8 league encounters.
But he is expecting a tough test from the league leaders at Swansea tomorrow and told the Wolves official site “When I’ve seen Swansea, and I saw a bit of them last season, they are a really good football team
“They are a good outfit with good footballers in the team and the manager has continued playing exactly the same way since coming up, playing it out from the back and passing it.
“It will be a really tough game for us because they have got clever footballers.
“They’ve got 12 points and I don’t know whether they see that as a great start or not but having come up they’re doing fine.
“They had a fantastic win at Preston the other night and that will certainly give them a whole load of confidence.
“Wolves are expected to be backed by around 2600 fans tomorrow in a crowd of 18000.
