Dimi has signed from Coventry City in time for the game against Southampton at the Liberty and will go straight into the side thanks to the absence of Dorus De Vries.
Roberto Martinez made his move for the former Hartlepool keeper after revealing that Dorus would be out of action for two months thanks to the clash with Martin Rowlands on Tuesday night.
And whilst it seemed for a while as if Artur Krysiak may make his debut on Saturday, the confidence was not there from Roberto and he went to his Championship rivals to sign the cover
Speaking on swanseacity.net, Martinez said “We are delighted to welcome Dimi on board at the Liberty Stadium, he has been part of the British game for a number of years and at 29 is in the best stage of his career.
“He is hungry for success and is determined to achieve his goal of playing for the Greek national senior side. Hopefully we can help him achieve that goal.
“In the meantime he will be a great addition to our squad.”
Meanwhile, the keeper told the same outlet “It’s a great opportunity for me, I’ve played at the Liberty Stadium a few times and really enjoyed it.
“The stadium is first class and, from what I remember, the support is superb. It’s a big club; a good club.
“I’ve been out injured for a spell, but now I’m back fully fit and looking forward to challenging for a first team place. It’s also a chance to help Swansea out of their resent predicament.”
