Doncaster Rovers slipped to the bottom of the table in midweek thanks to Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 win over QPR and last season’s League One play off winners are favourites for an immediate return to League One.
In contrast, the Swans have held a top 10 position for most of the season to date and Tuesday’s defeat was their first in six.
And you would forgive anyone for believing that the Swans would be set for three points tomorrow – especially when you consider their emphatic 4-0 win at the Keepmoat earlier in the year en route to that League One title.
But if that is the case there is no way that the players/management will say it publically with Darren Pratley telling the Evening Post “I am surprised at their position. But it is still early days and it will only take a couple of results to get them out of there”
Pratley’s words were echoed by one of his midfield partners, Ferrie Bodde who said “They are at the bottom, but in this league everybody can beat everybody and one day they will start winning
“We have to be prepared and make sure that isn’t this weekend.”
“The first thing I said in the dressing room after Wolves is that if they are top of the league, imagine where we can be,” Bodde reveals.
“Apart from Reading, I think we have been better than every team we’ve played against this season.
“But this is our first season in the Championship and the most important thing is that we get settled in the division.
“We don’t have to do anything else this year.”
And Roberto, as ever was on hand with some message of hope for the opposition “They have been playing a lot better than their results show and it’s a difficult place to go at this time because their bad run will come to an end at some point.” he said
“They are still adapting to the new division, but they have the quality and the power to win games at this level.”
