The News of the World is reporting Swansea City putting a £6m price tag on the head of the Dutchman at the end of a week in which interest from West Brom, Bolton, Portsmouth and Middlesbrough was also printed.
Not the most reliable of sources and backed up by quotes from the infamous “club spokesman” means that you don’t have to believe everything that you can read but on a weekend when the calendar ticked into November, you can be rest assured that stories similar to this will continue to surface between here and the end of January when the transfer window closes.
Huw Jenkins has said that the midfielder is not for sale especially when you factor in him being less than six months into a three year contract he signed after interest from Derby County in the summer.
The paper reports the club spokesman as saying “Roberto Martinez believes Ferrie is worth £6m, end of story.
“There is no way he will be sold for £2.5m or £3m. West Brom will be wasting their time if they offer that amount.”
The paper also reports that the 50% sell on clause remains in place for the player who cost just £80,000 less than 18 months ago.
