One could forgive Swansea fans for dreaming of back to back promotions but midfielder Darren Pratley thinks that goal can be achieved if the Liberty Stadium club continue to pick up points away from home and consolidate home form.
Speaking after an impressive 3-2 win over a struggling Norwich City side, the former Fulham man has his eye on a play off place as he told the BBC, “Our aim is to get into the play-offs. If we keep picking up good wins away, at tough places like Norwich, and continue winning our home games I don’t see why we can’t achieve our goal.”
Few would have put their money on Roberto Martinez’s men of making a real challenge in the top half of the championship but with odds shortening on Swansea to secure promotion to the premier league, the Swans could shock everyone.
However the 23 year old is keeping his feet firmly on the ground and has admitted that the squad are not getting carried away in a wave of euphoria as he now alludes too โOur win at Norwich has pushed us up the table. We’re happy with the three points at Norwich because it is a tough place to go. We’re playing well and with confidence but we have to go out and win, we don’t have the players who will sit back and just defend. But we’re not going too get carried away.”
