Williams Warns Cardiff Of Swans Record

The Swansea City and Wales defender was part of the team that surrendered their home unbeaten record last week and he has warned local rivals Cardiff that they want to put the record straight on Sunday when Welsh pride and – for now at least – top dog position is at stake.

“The Liberty is our place, our ground, and it was very, very disappointing to lose our record last week,” Williams told the Evening Post

“We were all proud of that record and it hurt to throw it away.Click here!

“Now Cardiff is the first chance we have to make up for that and there’s no better chance.

“Maybe there is pressure on us because we’re at home, but it is our patch and we don’t want anybody coming to the Liberty and having it easy.

“There has been a lot of talk about Ferrie and we all feel for him,” Williams added. “He’s a brilliant player and will be a massive miss for us, but we’re a team of 11 and we have done well without him before.

“The Cardiff game is probably just what we need right now. It’s only three points, but we all know it means much more than that.

“It’s a massive game, everyone’s going to be up for it and, if we can get the win we want we can kick on and look forward.

“Cardiff are a good side, they aren’t up there in the table for nothing, but we can beat them, and doing that will help get our confidence up again.

“The last game was huge, and personally I think I’ve kicked on from there,” he said.

“The derby was intense and I think that brought the best out of me.

“I got home and couldn’t sleep, and that was when I enjoyed seeing how we’d performed as a team and how I’d performed as an individual.

“I told myself I would repeat that and be in that zone every time I played.”
