Ledley has been questioned over his committment to the club that he supported as a child and has missed a few games through a finger injury – an injury that has now healed sufficiently for him to return against Swansea today.
But Ledley has hit back at those suypporters and told the News of the World “The criticism I’ve had from some fans this season has annoyed me.
“Whenever I’m out on the pitch I always give 110 per cent.ย Last season nobody was criticising me but this season a few people are trying to have a go.
“I do get angry especially as I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong.ย If I go out and make a mistake then I can understand someone having a go at me.
“The fans can say what theu want because they pay their money to watch Cardiff City.ย ย But some of them just don’t understand what I’ve done for the club.ย ย I’ve been at Cardiff since I was nine.ย I’ve made more than 200 appearances for the club.
“The season before last I didn’t miss a single game and I scored the winner that took us to the FA Cup final.ย I took a bit of stick in the home game against Wolves a few weeks ago and it’s gone on from there really.
“It does hurt me when people say I’m no longer interested in Cardiff City.ย My heart will always be at this club whatever happens to me.ย Wherever I am I will always look out for their results.
“I do feel I was getting back to my best before dislocating my finger.ย I thought I did OK when we won at Forest and then I got the winner against Palace.
“Just when things are starting to go well for me I’m out for two weeks which is typical.ย I’m back on top form now.ย I’ve got my goal and I’m looking to carry that on.ย I just hope the fans stop criticising me now.
“Losing the last derby was hard to take.ย We’ve got to take this game much more seriously and get the three points.”
