“Jordi has played a huge amount of games,” said the Swansea boss in the Evening Post. “He is not used to it as in Spain they don’t have such a busy schedule. The demands here are huge.
“He had a little bit of a rest and that will have done him good.
“I knew there was going to be a settling period but it did not take too long for him to adapt. He is a joy to watch and we have been delighted with him.
“It is great to see him enjoying his football with us โ he has to continue that standard.
“He has a year-long loan with us and we signed him because we know he has huge potential,” said Martinez.
“When the season finishes we will have to see what the situation is with Espanyol, Jordi and Swansea City.
“Right now, Espanyol have a new manager so it will take time for him to settle in and see what options he has available.”
