Gomez has become a instant fans favourite at the Liberty Stadium and would be a welcome permanent addition to a Swansea squad making a charge for the play-off places. However with the 23 year old’s parent club Espayol in turmoil and in very real danger of relegation to Segunda B, even the midfielder is unsure of his own future as he told the SWEP, he said “ It’s a possibility. There are many problems (Espanyol) so I don’t know what will happen in the future. “
Despite a permanent move on the cards just under a year after signing a new deal with the Barcelona club the highly rated Spaniard is only focused on this season , he added “I am not thinking about next season. I am thinking about now and I am enjoying playing for Swansea City.”
Contributing nine goals to the cause this season , Gomez has stressed the importance that his strikes help Swansea win games.”I am happy with my goals, but what is important is that the goals help the team win games. My team-mates are very good we have been playing very well, but we have to keep playing like this. “
With promotion growing into a very distinct possibility Gomez confident of securing a play- off berth as he now alludes to, “ I think we can get to the play-offs, and then who knows? We are working to it. We have shown we can beat these kinds of teams.”
