The Swansea City midfielder was speaking on the eve of the Swans game against Norwich and less than a week after he opened his goalscoring account with what he thought was to be a winning goal at Ninian Park.
That wasn't to be but Allen is just glad to be off the mark and he said “I went from absolute elation to despair in just a couple of minutes at Cardiff
“The high of scoring was fantastic. You could see how much it meant to the supporters, but we were brought back down to earth with the penalty decision.
“The goal has been a long time coming. I’ve never been that much of a goal scorer, so it’s really nice to chip in. It’s something that I need to add to my game.
“Until it’s mathematically impossible that we can’t make it, we’re going to keep going,” Allen said.
“Every game we’re going to keep playing. We’re going to try to make it. That’s our focus for the remainder of season.
“The performance at Cardiff was decent and we’re going to try to remain positive and use that when we face Norwich.
“We have to keep the possibility of reaching the play-offs alive in our performances and pick up maximum points.
“ We haven’t had a game at home for a while and I think it’s what the players and supporters need. We have to play our style of game. We’ve got the ability and have to show the quality to rise above them.”
