The Swansea City goalkeeper will become a free agent in the summer and talks between the club and the player's representatives have been ongoing for some time now.
De Vries told News of the World "The contract talks feel like they've been going on forever. I had the first offer from Swansea in October and my agent put the counter offer in in January. We had to wait a while for the Chairman to respond.
"He came back to my agent a couple of weeks ago and they're talking again. We're trying to work hard to reach agreement.
"I'm confident it will get sorted I want to stay at Swansea."
In an article published on BBC Sport yesterday, De Vries was quoted as saying "It's just building up the contract, It has to be correct and that's what we are waiting for.
"I've enjoyed my time here and I'm still enjoying it. It's just wait and see.
"It's up to my agent and the chairman to come together and keep on talking."
