Terms have been agreed with Scottish striker Beattie and he will undergo a medical this evening, while Trundle has agreed a loan deal until January, with an option to extend it until the end of the season.
The deal for 25 year old Beattie breaks the club record, previously set by Ashley Williams’ move from Stockport County last summer.
The former Celtic man was tipped to return to Scotland with Hearts interested in his services earlier in the transfer window, but it was revealed they couldn’t afford the striker’s wages.
Paulo Sousa has been desperate to add firepower to his depleted squad and had been linked with the likes of Pablo Counago, Grzegorz Rasiak and Marek Saganowski in the past few weeks.
Meanwhile, Swans fans need no introduction to Trundle – the Scouser has scored more than 80 goals for the club and will make his return to action on Saturday against Watford.
‘Magic Daps’, who has been given the number 19 shirt, has failed to impress Robins boss Gary Johnson since arriving for £1m in 2007 and had made his intention to leave Ashton Gate known.
Trundle will be ineligible to face City in the next few weeks when they come to the Liberty.
