Bodde was ruled out for the rest of the season yesterday after suffering a repeat of the cruciate ligament damage that sidelined him for the last 6 months of last term.

Bodde went down – it appeared as a caution – against Sheffield United on Saturday but the worst fears were confirmed yesterday when it was said that Ferrie would be out for the season.

“It’s a big blow,” Jenkins told the Western Mail

“Not just for the football club but, more importantly, for Ferrie himself. He is devastated at the moment, but as a club we have told him we will look after him and stand by him every step of the way – as we did last time.

“He will remain a very important member of this football club. We all feel for him, and I’m sure every Swans fan will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.”
